Deloitte, founded in London in 1845, has about 470,000 people and provides audit, tax and consulting services1.

Best for: Large companies that want AI built on a modernised data foundation, from a firm that also audits and advises.

Not the right fit for: Mid-sized companies that want quantified, named results before they engage, and accounting firms, for whom it is a competitor.

What Deloitte's AI practice does

The AI & Data practice designs, builds and runs AI solutions, including generative and agentic AI, alongside data engineering, analytics and DataOps. On 31 August 2026 it announced the acquisition of Wavicle, a data and AI engineering firm2.

The case studies on its AI & Data page include a B2B commerce platform for an unnamed equipment manufacturer and data work for banks and a university. None gives a quantified result, and none is in the six industries this site covers2. Accounting firms should note that Deloitte is itself one of the largest audit and tax firms.

Published evidence

  • Equipment manufacturer (not named). A digital B2B commerce platform that Deloitte says lowered costs and streamlined order-to-cash. No figures are given.2

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • Covers data engineering and data operations as well as models, which is where many AI projects stall.
  • Recent investment in engineering capacity through the Wavicle acquisition.
  • Published case of a digital B2B commerce platform that streamlined order-to-cash for an equipment manufacturer.

Limits

  • None of the case studies on the AI & Data page gives a quantified result.
  • Its industry groups do not include dedicated pages for logistics, construction or property management in the AI practice.
  • Pricing is not published.

Choose another option if: You need named references in your industry, or a scope a mid-sized company can fund in one budget cycle.

Questions to ask Deloitte

  • Which named clients of our size and industry can we speak to?
  • What is the price of a first phase, and what does it deliver?
  • Who runs the system after go-live, and on what terms?
  • How does the Wavicle team change who would work on our project?
